I think I was 10 or so when I first became aware of the plaque at the base of the Statue of Liberty. It meant so much to me since all my family came from other countries. Now I hear someone in the Trump administration wants to change it to reflect the current state of affairs. Don’t do this.
Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses, yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore,
Send these, the homeless, tempest tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door.
Big kiss, Lynn
