If you know me, you know of my deep and abiding love of all things Star Wars. Even Episode 1 did not diminish my hope and desire for an incredible Episode 2. Oh, you know the character I’m talking about. I saw A New Hope in 1978 at the UA Cinema in Seattle. There was a curved 70 meter screen. WOW! I swear when the battle cruiser came on at the opening, everyone in the theater ducked their heads.
What is it about Star Wars? I’m obviously not the only one who feels this strongly. When my dad saw it, he claimed it was a total ripoff of “Gunfight at the OK Corral”. He said it was horse opera at its finest. Is that it? Does it connect with our early roots?
Don’t know, don’t care. All I can tell you is: I wear a Yoda Lego watch everyday, the family has a May the 4th party every year and we watch all the movies, my favorite Gkid (you know the one) and I have droid tattoos, and we all go see the new Star Wars release on Christmas Day.
So, as I said at the the beginning. May the Force be with you, always, but especially on May the fourth.
Big kiss, Lynn
